SHOTCRETE CONSTRUCTION
Shotcrete is a wet -mix concrete applied by spraying at a high velocity to reach a certain compaction or density level. Shotcrete is a mixture of aggregate and cement. At Pool Doctors we use a revolutionary proprietary blend of add mixtures to ensure the best application and longevity of the product.
The shotcrete mix is shot out of a hose and sprayed onto the formed pool area. It allows for more freedom with shape and design of a pool.
It is an incredibly strong application for a build making it suitable for any region as it can withstand all types of weather.
A Shotcrete pool is all custom designed to suit your needs. Any shape and size is possible depending on your lot, options are endless and can include baja shelves, tanning ledges, benches etc.
SHOTCRETE VS GUNITE
Shotcrete refers to a wet concrete that is fully mixed before it's shot out of a hose, where as Gunite is a dry concrete mix that only mixes with water at the end of the nozzle as it's being sprayed.
The durability of shotcrete is equivalent to high quality concrete. The lifespan of a shotcrete structure is more than 50 years. For pool remodels a shotcrete coating can extend the structure by more than 25 years.
